Crawford Company is seeking a Tool Coordinator to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining tools related to plumbing, electrical and HVAC construction. This role tracks and manages tool inventory, inspects equipment to ensure safety and operability, and orders replacement tools as needed. This position works closely with all levels of staff to coordinate equipment and ensure tools are readily available when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains, organizes, and test tools related to plumbing, electrical, and HVAC construction
  • Loads tools on and off of trucks
  • Documents where/to whom tooling is assigned and when it will be returned
  • Tracks tool inventories and reports any missing items promptly
  • Ensures tooling is ready to use when needed
  • Tracks inventory of materials and consumables and orders replenishment as needed
  • Keeps Tool Crib/Cage clean and organized
  • Communicates routinely with Director of Operations, other employees, and supervisors
  • Works closely with inventory specialists, operation managers and general foreman in the field
  • Cross-trains with the Inventory Specialist to provide backup coverage and support when needed
  • Manages tool vendor relationships, including purchasing and rental tool tracking
  • Reconcile tool invoices daily and ensure proper item, quantity and pricing
  • Follows all safety guidelines and procedures
  • Ensures that all those who enter or work in the Tool Crib/Cage perform their work safely and use all appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Stops unsafe work practices and intervenes, offering information on how to accomplish things better
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must be a motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic, strong attention to detail, and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail required
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Must be able to routinely lift 40 to 75 pounds
  • Background in related industry strongly preferred
