Safety Coordinator

Crawford Company is looking for a Safety Coordinator to join our team. As Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for promoting worker safety, while enhancing the safety culture of the company through the development and deployment of health and safety programs and initiatives. This role actively pursues continuous improvement opportunities throughout the organization and ensures Crawford’s safety programs meet or exceed OSHA, State and Federal requirements. This position is a key member of leadership and works closely with all levels of staff throughout the company.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain safety programs to minimize occupational injuries and financial losses.
  • Work with leadership to identify and develop company-wide safety objectives.
  • Maintain safety policies and procedures to remain current with best practices and ensure all regulatory compliance.
  • Perform job-site safety inspections, present findings to division managers and track follow-up items.
  • Conduct routine safety assessments of employees, equipment and the workplace to ensure safe working conditions and practices.
  • Coach employees when safety infractions are noted and communicate areas of non-compliance and high-risk with leadership.
  • Coordinate weekly safety tool-box talks and monthly Safety Committee meetings.
  • Assist project managers with pre-job / shutdown safety planning.
  • Manage new hire safety orientation and annual safety training.
  • Maintain training records and certifications.
  • Conduct post-accident investigations, including root cause analysis, and provide recommendation to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Assist with worker’s comp claims.
  • Oversee auto insurance claims and conduct field inspections of company vehicles.
  • OSHA compliance, recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Upkeep of safety content on company portals and websites.
  • Maintain contractor/supplier information management platforms (Avetta, ISN, etc.).
  • Track and analyze data to identify workplace incident/injury/near-miss trends and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Attend safety seminars.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Three years of experience in a designated safety role required.
  • General knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred. OSHA 1910 and/or OSHA 1926 preferred.
  • Advanced training or certification in safety preferred.
  • Work experience within construction or related industry strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with safety inspections and audits preferred.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and emergency preparedness preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Salary: starting at $70,000

  • Compensation commensurate with experience and background
