Troy Smithson and Marc Fluegel Recognized as June/July Safety Award Recipients
July 30, 2024ROCK ISLAND, IL - Crawford Company recognizes Troy Smithson and Marc Fluegel as the June/July Safety award recipients. Troy is a press team lead for Seaberg Industries. He has been with the company for ten years. Troy receives this award for his diligence in keeping the workplace safe. Recently Seaberg made minor changes to some of their dies. Troy noticed that when the dies were stored on the racking system, the height of the new dies could be an issue, causing them to tip over. Troy took it upon himself to modify the racks to help prevent an accident/injury.
Marc receives his award for recognizing a safety issue and reporting it. Marc was recently working in an industrial environment. He noticed the area in which his team was working did not have the lockout/tagout procedure completed correctly. Marc immediately reported the issue and stopped work until the lockout/tagout was completed by the facility. Marc is a sheet metal journeyman and foreman in Crawford’s Welded Fabrication Division. He has been with the company for over ten years.
